Dispute a Transaction
If a charge is wrong, duplicate, or unauthorized, we will investigate. Timing and rules depend on whether it is a debit, credit card, or ACH transaction.
Debit card & ACH errors
For electronic fund transfers (including debit card purchases and ACH debits), federal law and your deposit agreement define how long you have to report errors. Generally, reporting unauthorized transfers within two business days limits your liability; longer delays may increase your responsibility up to certain caps. Always report as soon as you notice a problem.
Credit card disputes
For credit card charges, you may dispute billing errors under Regulation Z. Common reasons include goods not received, duplicate charges, or unauthorized use. We may provisionally credit your account while we investigate.
What we need
- Date and amount of the transaction
- Merchant or payee name
- Why you believe the charge is incorrect
- Any receipts, emails, or tracking that support your claim
You can start a dispute through Online Banking, our mobile app, or by contacting us. For urgent unauthorized debit activity, call first—do not rely on email alone.
